Almond Blossoms of Kashmir: A Symphony of Spring
Every March-April, almond trees burst into bloom in Kashmir Valley, painting the landscape with soft shades of pink and white. The Badamwari Garden in Srinagar, locally known as Badam Vaer, becomes the epicenter of this floral show. Located at the foothills of the historic Hari Parbat Fort, come springtime, this garden transforms into a sea of blossoms.
The almond trees, among the first to flower in the region, typically bloom from mid-March to mid-April. The blooms mark the arrival of spring. Their multicolored petals—ranging from pale blush to vivid pink—stand out against the backdrop of snow-capped Himalayan peaks, creating a striking contrast that photographers and nature lovers find irresistible.
